WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN DIP IN AND OUT OF TIKTOK?? I am stuck there for hours at a time. I’m really watching the Caliphate coverage because I was consumed with the podcast, and Rukmini. However, I’m embarrassed to admit (not that embarrassed, obvs) that I must not have listened as closely as I should since I came away with the idea that the Canadian in question was making the whole thing up. But if the NYT makes a mistake like this, how many other things we learn in podcasts are equally untrue? Do we all walk around containing little fragments of fake news? On a more joyful note, I am a fan of Esther’s. She works hard as hell, does her own work and was one of the podcasts caught up in the plagiarism scandal. I like to see her get her profile raised. Her podcast about Lacie Peterson was one of the best I’ve heard on the subject. She lived in the area at the time, so had lots of additional insight. Thanks for more information that I will dive into tonight. P.S. Today was our first day of early voting in Texas with lines over four hours long. We’re usually more of a walk in/walk out state. I am cautiously optimistic by this turnout - at least it’s good to see people more involved in the political process. This is not a political site (and it’s been a great respite because of that) but I am glad to see folks voting. Vote early and often is this Chicagoan’s motto. ❤️
