I didn't think it quite stuck the landing, but "The Trojan Horse Affair" really did start off with first season Serial vibes. The second episode reveal was amazing, and more than enough to give it a top spot for me (though I haven't listened to Bone Valley! In the queue for the Winter break).

I liked The Trojan Horse Affair, but I really loved Death of An Artist. I enjoyed learning in more depth about the art world, and exploring how to think about great artists who have - shall we say - problematic personalities. This was one of my faves. Like everyone else, I found Bone Valley extremely compelling - and absolutely infuriating. I also liked Chameleon’s Wild Boys. Lots of solidly good true crime podcasts out this year.

The true crime adjacent (?) trailer I saw recently that most piqued my interest was "Paul T. Goldman" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mMcugQTjHs

I said it yesterday, I'll say it again: Bible John: Creation of a Serial Killer rocketed to the top this week, before that it was Bone Valley probably. The podcast I am most emotionally invested in is the Australian series "The Lady Vanishes", which has prompted a coronial inquiry in New South Wales that is currently ongoing. "Teacher's Pet" is the famous Australian podcast that got a trial but honestly this one is more significant imho. They did a series of catch-up episodes recently which is good because its been going for a long time and is quite complex.
