Have your media consumption habits changed since the world woke up to the threat of COVID-19? Speaking for me — this is Eve — my podcast slate threatens to overwhelm my cell phone, as I mainly listen to shows while driving, commuting, or at the gym. I’m not doing any of those things anymore, so the pods keep piling up.
Also, has the daily stress and thrum thrum thrum of pandemic made you more or less inclined to consume true crime? It’s honestly all I want right now, but my husband can’t even handle Black Monday (a fictional, comedic take on the Wall Street crash of 1987) at the moment. Where do you stand? Let’s talk it out.
I'm getting closer to being caught up on all my podcasts than I've been since Christmas week (when a lot of podcasts took a break). I think I've been listening more, not less, because I'm working from my bed (instead of the law library where I often have to step away to help attorneys). Bonus: I can listen to all of my NSFW podcasts without the threat of my boss coming in to hear Dan Savage say something about oral sex.
I'm listening to again with this mostly. I try to listen to a few podcasts that are not Beverly Hills 90210 related, but AGT gives me something to listen to and relax with. *
I listen to podcasts at work, so now I'm working from home and don't get interrupted by people and phones. So I'm actually listening to slightly more podcasts as I am even making progress on my backlog. The only podcast I've added is Here For You because I find Doree and Kate so soothing.
Part of my backlog is true crime pods and I find it mostly soothing in it's own way.
I'm listening to podcasts (helps block out distractions while working from home), but falling way behind on my current audiobook, which I'd usually listen to on my commute.
I've always listened while driving which I'm doing less of. However I am running out of TV to watch lol, so have started turning on a podcast in the evening before bed. True crime is still my favorite.
I am so busy that I have had virtually zero time to listen to anything! Drowning in COVID-19 info to parse and send to clients who are struggling with how to keep as much of their workforce in place as humanly possible. Getting about four hours sleep a night(still making time for TBP, of course!). SHOOT. ME. NOW. Miss you guys - although it’s a nice break for you not to have to read my constant comments. 😁
I listen to podcasts while doing chores around the house and relatively low brain power work tasks, so I've only really lost my commute listening time.
Most true crime still works for me, but I think I'd be enjoying Tiger King a lot more if my mind was in a different place...
Watching more live stream videos with the extra screens around while I'm doing work. I do think my podcast listening has dropped off as I don't really want to hear true crime or business negativity right now.
I listen to podcasts almost 100% on my commute, which is 10 mins in the car and 20 mins on the bus, so not even that long. I'm working from home now, and kind of freaking out about how I'm going to listen to everything! My current plan is to get up a little earlier than usual, brew a cup of coffee, and listen to something for 1/2 hour. I'll still have to be judicious in what I chose to listen.
I think I’m like your husband. Just yesterday I unsubscribed to a bunch of the true crime pods that were in the ‘tell me a story’ category. I just feel like I want other stories right now. I kept the ones with critiques and about the wrongfully convicted and ongoing cases.

I home office all the time so I’m listening to same amount of podcasts ( a lot).

Quick bite: listened to the first episode of Criminal Conduct, and I’m intrigued. Looking forward to more.
