I am very willing to have people come back & yell at me about this. I am not a fan of Woody Allen, and since his marriage to Soon-Yi, I haven’t seen anything he has done. However, the fact remains that he was investigated for the abuse and charges were not filed. Theoretically, at least, he is entitled to a presumption of innocence. Then, I read Maureen Orth’s smart, short VF article (“10 Undeniable Facts About The Woody Allen Sexual-Abuse Allegation”), and I think what it comes down to is yes, any publisher is free to make a decision about what and whom it publishes. If Hachette had made the decision not to publish BEFORE Ronan Farrow’s public statement, I wouldn’t have cared. But the fact that they were cool with the Allen memoir one minute, and backed off it the second minute after negative publicity was generated does, to me, smack of censorship. Never thought I’d agree with Uncle Stevie, but there it is. Happy to listen to and mull over all differing opinions.

Thanks for reminding me that I want to read Strange Piece of Paradise! The reviews at the time were electric, has any one read it?
