Happy Christmas Eve to those of you who celebrate (and a very quiet day to those who don’t). The wrapping sprint is on at our house today; I’m choosing between Edward Humes’s Burned and Cara Robertson’s The Trial Of Lizzie Borden to pass the time/distract me from how much I suck at measuring twice and cutting once.
I’m spending Christmas Day in my dad’s hospital room so that’s exciting. But I am reading some true crime, In Hoffa's Shadow: A Stepfather, a Disappearance in Detroit, and My Search for the Truth by Jack Goldsmith and I have an episode of Crime Investigation Australia on The Granny Killer recorded for some totally inappropriate Xmas night viewing later. Happy new year everyone!
I watched quite a few episodes of Homicide for the Holidays while wrapping presents/playing Santa. It’s pretty good! On the drive down to see my folks in NC post-Xmas I devoured Savage Appetites and got started on Midnight in Chernobyl. I have In Hoffa’s Shadow on loan from the library and plan to read it next. Also, there is an amazing used book store in the town where I grew up and I try to go every time I visit. This trip my true crime haul includes The Poisoner’s Handbook and a McGinnis classic I haven’t read in years, Blind Faith.
I plan to listen to In The Dark again from the beginning- it’s bringing me such joy
Watching Zodiac with my niece - trying to get her interested in peak true crime. Wish me luck. Happy wrapping!
I burned through the last three episodes of Criminal while pacing out my final workday. Also a lot of Cats content, which is surely a crime of sorts?
Getting my old school (!) true crime fix on with Beeb’s documentary on Romanov daughters.

I watched the first episode of The Confession Killer. Found it very slow. Should I keep going?
