This month I read L.A. Despair by John Gilmore (comforting pulp recollections of sad people like Barbara Payton and Johnny Wadd), which made me want to read I Am Not Ashamed by Babs Payton (whoa). I also started Dino by Nick Tosches (wow... I had no idea) and am super close to finishing Kolker’s Hidden Valley Road (I like accusing people of misbehaving like the hockey brothers). (High on Arrival by Mackenzie Phillips and Full Service by Scotty Bowers are up next, plus any Hollywood trash you want to recommend to me!)
