Hey, SDB, you forgot my favorite 30 For 30: Broke. I think I could construct a reasonable argument that not teaching athletes how to handle their money is a crime, especially when your sport relies upon people of color without wealth backgrounds. It’s so sad that most of these people are broke after they finish uncertain careers where they laid their bodies on the line for our entertainment. P.S. My former employer underwrote American Experience for years, so I am also a devotee of that fine program. You truly learn so much from it while just imbibing it like a fine cocktail. Also, I would like to be addressed as Boots from now on.

Really enjoyed this ep - Jessica Liese is a treasure! - I don't know much about Reelz so it was interesting background on the cheapness of some of the tactics (all that grainy b-roll). I was wondering if you'd mention my fave, the student who was a bombing victim and gave an enthusiastic rendition of the event. He described how his Airforce ring embedded into a far wall with a vigour that I can only describe as "natural born engineer".

And I don't think it was deliberate, but maybe very telling that in all the "robot" footage any humans shown were POC, which contrasted with the sheer whiteness of the talking heads. The extreme eco-movement definitely has some racist overtones (population control klaxon!) so I got a little chin-stroking over that.

Loving every article! My favorite 30 for 30 – and an episode I love revisiting just for the sheer pleasure of hearing about high-stakes gambling – is “A Queen of Sorts.” Not sure if it fulfills all the crime requirements, but baccarat scammers just sound so damn cool.
