I read If You Tell last month and I think Sarah and Stephanie pretty much encapsulated its challenges. I was willing to overlook a lot of the stuff left out (most notably is some sort of attempt at unpacking just what was up with Shelly...my armchair analysis is a sadism strain mixed with borderline personality disorder) because it kept me engaged and zipped right along. I think Gregg Olsen is a pretty reliable true crime go-to. I haven't read all his catalog, but what I've read has been solid "B" material. I think he does a good job capturing the quirks of the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy those "regional" true crime offerings . Like I always read what Kathryn Casey writes (all her books are about Texas crimes), because it's engaging and I can read one on a plane or at the beach.
