The Sara Green article just popped up on my Reddit home feed. So far they’re sympathetic, but I assume that’ll change once more comments are made. It’s hard to even know what to make of that piece, other than that the sunk cost fallacy is a hell of a thing.
Just read the Sara Gruen piece. What struck me is how a unique cocktail of obsessive personality traits, past trauma, and a savior complex led to this completely crazy situation. I also feel a little weird that the article was written by Gruen's friend. I don't know, since this involves a man who may very well be wrongly convicted, some objectivity would have helped avoid giving him short shrift.
Wow. Yikes. After reading that, I feel like an awful lot of the goings-on may be reflective of a mental breakdown more than anything else. So much of what is alleged in that article sets off my bullshit meter. I don't think I'd have as many doubts if it had been written by someone a bit more impartial than a longtime friend?
I read the Sara Gruen piece yesterday -- completely bonkers! It was really shocking.
I do want to discuss the Sara Gruen piece but first I gotta stop dry heaving over that Aileen Wuornos news.
