Thank you for letting us know about the Sacramento ebook. To me, as someone who worked in the area of local history, that is a priceless oral history project. There are so many events that change communities: fires, floods, earthquakes, crimes, etc. I would normally have to dig through separate diaries and biographies to collect scraps related to such events (it was VERY fun work!). It is so rare for a volume to intentionally collect all the stories from the people who lived the event. Kudos to the DA’s office for publishing this. The DA seems like an unusual source for an oral history but the more i think about it “taking a statement,” really is just collecting an oral history of a highly specific point in time.
