Year end best-of lists are my jam. The Marie Claire one confuses me though because two on their list came out in 2019 (Savage Appetites and American Predator). Overall, I think this has been kind of a down year for great true crime books though Memorial Drive and Notes on a Silencing were both fantastic and great additions to the crime-oir genre. I've got We Keep the Dead Close next in my queue (after I finish Billion Dollar Loser about WeWork which I recommend if you looking for something Bad Blood-esque or enjoy reading about unicorn delusions/scams).
