There’s a really interesting story coming out my football-obsessed hometown in PA: the football season has been canceled due to a “sexualized” hazing video, by a Black superintendent, in a very racist town.
I agree that Mike needs his own “Made in America”. Are there any books/ docs about the history/ sociology of boxing as a “poor people sport” (dominated by white immigrants, then Black Americans, now Latino immigrants)? A few years back some state legalized bare-knuckle boxing, and it started a good discussion amongst my FB friends. It seems less popular now than in Mike’s heyday, but never quite gets relegated to “the past”.
