How many papers have I written on the Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire in different phases of my education? Four. That’s right, four, all from different perspectives. It’s still a story that makes my stomach turn, but I am glad the workers (male and female) are remembered, and their lives did help to effect some lasting change in how employees and employee safety are thought of by “the bosses”. That PBS documentary is excellent, so if anyone hasn’t seen it, you will be riveted by the watch. Sorry for anyone working today; I am resolutely in the prone position, reading the NYT and watching “Rake”. Has anybody seen that? I’d like to punch him in the balls, but I’m afraid that he’d take that as an invitation to have sex. 😬

Sent them the link to The Witness and heard vast quantities of silence. In an era when it's so easy for us to believe the worst of others, why do we ignore factual evidence that, every once in a while, others care more for us than we are led to believe?
