All these 'troubled teen' places deserve a re-examination, I remember watching the reality TV shows based on them (!!!) and in a classic "hindsight is 20/20" realisation now see how f'ed up the whole thing was. As a culture we love tormenting teenagers way too much.
If you really examine families, most parents aren’t qualified to raise future people. They just aren’t. As a broken and traumatized former future person, I wish I had been raised by wolves. The outcome couldn’t have been any worse. And hey, maybe I could have been on a reality tv episode!!
