This is a good post! I just can't do Wondery. I've tried and almost every time it's so ... I'm not sure how to describe. Too bad CC couldn't be resurrected vs an HLN property. And we also have the "want to go for a hike" joke in our house and make sure you say I light a room ( I definitely do not light up a room- I mean, I'm a true crime person!).
I've mentioned this before, but I've re-discovered the joy of Dateline over the last year. Part of that is due to the fun of watching re-runs on Oxygen (and about a dozen other cable channels it seems) and then listening to the corresponding very funny Date with Dateline podcast episodes on my daily walks. The formula and the predictability are like catching up with an old friend (who lights up a room).
The Danny Masterson preliminary hearing proceedings were very interesting. I tried to keep up through the excellent coverage on Tony Ortega's site (https://tonyortega.org/scientology/). To me it seems extremely noteworthy how much Scientology was a part of the proceedings. I don't want to put too much stock in this being the beginning of the end, but it sure feels like a crack in the dam that might not have been possible years ago. So much credit to Leah Remini and Mike Rinder's efforts (their podcast, Scientology: Fair Game is worth a listen if you find yourself missing the tv series) to document the atrocities of CoS.
Kathleen Turner in a Jean Smart-style HBO renaissance please! Plemons and Binoche are also faves of mine but I'm ice cold on the Staircase so I'll wait for the 3 of them to film a buddy comedy together.
