I had just finished that article (saw it reposted via Twitter) when Best Evidence flew into my inbox. It absolutely infuriates me that this woman - as well as many others, I'm sure - so merrily plagiarize from newspapers, from fellow podcasters and from other sources without crediting them. The article points out that a newspaper journalist would be fired for this offense. I don't think it's any better because it's flowing into your ears, rather than your eyes. I've read other articles (of course, can't seem to remember any to cite currently) that it is more difficult to teach college students about plagiarism since the rise of the internet; the web seems to make any searchable information fair game, removing intellectual property rights. I'd like to see some kind of sanctions. Especially in this world of cancel culture, it seems that podcast should either truly make some corrections, or be canceled. In other news, I just watched a documentary called, The Family I Had. If anyone else has seen this, let me know, since I'm longing to discuss.
